I saw this book on Instagram and thought it was one I needed to read. Luckily enough it was on Kindle Unlimited. So here we are and I am writing a review just for the fun of it. I can’t begin to tell you how refreshing that is. It has been so long since I did one just because. It is something I am going to get back into.

This was my first read from Julie Weaver and I have to say it was not a bad read. I am all about the podcast girlies so I dove right into this one. Asha is a true crime podcaster who ends up with Rook O’Connell, an Irish gangster. A single drink turns into a one night which turns into a fake marriage and her helping him solve a murder. Oh did I mention he is every red-flag out there almost. I mean he was already stalking her before she even met him. But hey, every relationship has its little issues. The romance is great and the mystery is there so all of my boxes got ticked. Both of them are well written characters.

I enjoyed this book but I took off a half star because Rook made me a little angry. I don’t want to spoil it or anything but let me say that if you are a stalker and that protective you lay your own guilt and ego down and keep your prey. That is just my opinion and yes I get why he does what he does but still. I just felt like a man like Rook either wouldn’t do that or would fall to his knees and beg for forgiveness.  Other than that this is a great read.
