NOW LIVE! Violent Little Thing by @lanilynnvale i NOW LIVE! Violent Little Thing by @lanilynnvale is available now! “filled with drama, witty banter, secrets, suspense and sizzling hot chemistry” – Goodreads reviewer Amazon: https://a.co/d/06FezaQm B&N: https://t.ly/72fGl Kobo: https://t.ly/7cw0x Apple Books: https://t.ly/fi8bC Goodreads: https://t.ly/1zVpA The first time Courtland Navarro saw Charleigh Lynn Kensington, she was yelling at her old boss about a yeast infection. Court didn’t know that his heart could even beat after the loss of his late wife, but in that moment, when she was yelling about a bladder infection from hell, he realized that maybe he hadn’t died inside after all. The second time he saw her, he was protecting her from herself. The big—actually quite small—bad—more like a pissed-off Chihuahua—Marine thought she could handle herself. And honestly, she might have been able to. But she was five-foot-nothing, had crazy blonde hair, and looked like one hell of an easy target. To say that they got off on the wrong foot would be an understatement. Then, searching for something to do with his life after getting out of prison, he finds a mechanic shop for sale. So he buys it. Little did he know that Charleigh had wanted that shop. And now she had even more reason to hate him. She tries her hardest to hold on to the anger, the utter dislike of all things Court Navarro. But Charleigh doesn’t stand a chance. Court has set his sights on her, and there’s nothing that she can do but surrender. But, maybe, that was what she wanted all along. Someone to fight for her. I wasn't even supposed to read this book. I appli I wasn't even supposed to read this book. I applied for a future N. von Wolf release, somehow ended up on the list for These Tears instead, and figured I'd give it a try. Five stars later, I'd like to thank whoever made that mistake! Leah immediately had me on her side. She's intelligent and observant, and I loved how she processes information instead of suddenly becoming some fearless captive-romance heroine who always knows exactly what to do. Then there's Elias. Welp. 🖤 My relationship with this man was complicated. I went from wanting Leah far away from him to yelling "I CAN FIX HIM" at my Kindle. No, I cannot. The psychological side of this story is what really hooked me. Pay attention because details matter, and some things aren't what they initially seem. I don't want to say much more because discovering those pieces is half the fun. The Norwegian setting adds to the isolation, the tension keeps building, and once I started, I read straight through until I finished. This is DARK, though. Definitely check the content warnings before reading because the captive and psychological elements aren't just window dressing. Sometimes the wrong ARC turns out to be exactly the right book. ☕ Continue the conversation: My full review is waiting through the Book Buzz link in my bio. #DarkRomanceBooks #PsychologicalThriller #CaptiveRomance #DarkRomanceReader #Bookstagram
What would you do if you went to sleep and woke up What would you do if you went to sleep and woke up seven thousand years later? Evelyn Bishop doesn't exactly get time to figure that out. She was placed into cryopreservation against her will and wakes on Ganymede with a new body, surrounded by robots, cyborgs, cloning, and technology she could never have imagined. The Rebirth Foundation has created something that looks remarkably close to paradise. You already know where my suspicious reader brain went with that. What's the catch? 😂 What fascinated me most wasn't actually the technology. It was discovering that seven thousand years of progress apparently hasn't done much about greed, obsession, or the desire for power. This was my first Stephen Piper book, and I really enjoyed uncovering this strange new world alongside Evelyn. Just be warned about that ending because I was NOT prepared to be left there. 😂 🚀 Futuristic Science Fiction ❄️ Cryogenic Preservation ⏳ Distant-Future Awakening 🌌 Ganymede Setting 🏙️ Utopia with Dark Secrets 🧬 Cloning & Artificial Bodies 🦾 Cyborgs & Robots 🕵️‍♀️ Secrets & Conspiracy ☕ Continue the conversation: My full review is waiting through the Book Buzz link in my bio. #ScienceFictionBooks #SciFiReads #BookReview #Bookstagram #DystopianFiction #ScienceFictionReaders
HAPPY RELEASE DAY! They Know If You've Been Bad or HAPPY RELEASE DAY! They Know If You've Been Bad or Good by @altahensley Series: Naughty or Nice #3 Genres: Dark Romance, Holiday Romance, Menage Romance There’s no escaping the holiday spirit in this dark, forced-proximity, why choose, Christmas stalker romance, the sequel to Alta Hensley’s New York Times bestselling He Knows When You’re Awake! Stalkin’ around the Christmas tree… Hailey Parker thought she had outrun her past. As the assistant to a successful jewelry designer, she’s started a new life in New York City, and may even have a new boyfriend to cozy up with this holiday. Her boss’s security guard, Knox, is a man of few words, but his obvious obsession calls to the darkest parts of Hailey’s imagination. Then, her ex-boyfriend—and ex-partner-in-crime—shows up outside Hailey’s Brooklyn apartment. Liam explains that their past has caught up with them: the mobster they robbed five years ago has tracked them down. If they hope to escape with their lives, they must return to the remote Canadian wilderness where Hailey hid the priceless stolen diamond. But a very different fate is awaiting them in the frigid landscape. Someone else entirely is pulling the strings, an unhinged billionaire who has a dark fascination with Hailey and Liam—and with the protective, ex-military boyfriend who has tracked Hailey all the way to the Northwest Territories. Imprisoned together in a luxurious cabin and with a lethal ticking time bomb, Hailey, Liam, and Knox have no choice but to work together to outwit their captor. As a winter storm approaches—and simmering tensions between them reach a breaking point—escape starts to seem impossible…but what if everything they need is right there in the cabin? Tropes:🎄 Christmas Romance 💕 Why Choose 🎖️ Military Romance 👀 Stalker Romance 🎯 One Last Job 🏠 Forced Proximity 🔥 M/M/F Romance ❤️‍🩹 Second-Chance Romance 🛏️ Only One Bed #TheyKnowIfYouveBeenBadorGood #NetGalley
Hailey knows she's being watched. Knox knows that Hailey knows she's being watched. Knox knows that she knows. And apparently we're all just going to carry on like this is a perfectly reasonable way to begin a romance. 😂 That setup was what hooked me on They Know If You've Been Bad or Good. Knox originally started watching Hailey because he was concerned about her safety, but sir, we have clearly moved beyond neighborhood watch. I liked him anyway. This is a morally gray romance, so I'm obviously using a different measuring stick here. Once everything was out in the open, I actually liked that Hailey was allowed to make her own choices about Knox rather than having him decide what their relationship would be. Hailey and I did have a brief falling out somewhere around the middle of the book. She made a couple of decisions that had me staring at my Kindle wondering what exactly she thought she was doing. She eventually won me back, although I still reserve the right to question her decision-making skills. 😂 Then Alta Hensley surprised me with the why choose element. I did NOT know that was coming. And it worked. The tension between the three characters was probably my favorite surprise of the entire book because their dynamic became more interesting as it developed. Plus, there is plenty of spice once everybody starts figuring out exactly what they want. This is set around Christmas, and we do get some cute holiday markets and festive moments, but don't expect Christmas to be the main event. These people are far too busy with stalking, kidnapping, relationship complications, and increasingly questionable decisions for that. This was my second Alta Hensley book and my first from this series. I didn't realize it was book three when I picked it up, and I was completely fine starting here. I never felt lost or like I needed the previous books to understand what was happening. Sometimes you want a sweet Christmas romance. Sometimes you want kidnapping and a stalker. Apparently I contain multitudes. 😂 #TheyKnowIfYouveBeenBadorGood #NetGalley #bookreview
Apparently if you accidentally start a detective a Apparently if you accidentally start a detective agency, eventually people expect you to solve actual crimes. Who knew? 😂🔎 A woman believes her brother's death wasn't an accident. Her questions send Emersyn and Wyatt into the world of funeral homes, suspicious deaths, and undercover investigating. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out whether Emersyn actually wants to be a detective. She argues about the rules for becoming a PI, wants a say in everything, and then seems perfectly happy to let Wyatt and seventeen-year-old computer genius Theo handle the serious detective work. Until she throws herself headfirst into danger. That's also why she works in this strange little team. She's good with people and notices when something feels wrong. Theo has the computer skills. Wyatt has the investigative drive. Together, they're starting to look suspiciously like a real detective agency. The Deco Mirage crew is back too, and I love these people. Leona, Bitty, Jemma, Theo, and the rest have become a found family for Emersyn and Livvy, whether Emersyn knows what to do with all that help or not. I also appreciate that Sarah Fox hasn't forgotten Emersyn is grieving. She's raising her brother's daughter while still mourning him herself, and those feelings don't disappear just because there's another mystery to solve. And Wyatt? Sir, I see you. The slow burn is BURNING. The banter is still fun, but there's something softer underneath it now, especially after those kisses in the first book. I'm ridiculously invested in watching these two figure themselves out. 😂🔎 Rom-Com Mystery 🕵️‍♀️ Amateur Sleuths 📋 Fake Detective Agency Turned Real 🤝 Coworkers / Partners 💕 Slow-Burn Chemistry ⚰️ Funeral-Home Mystery 🤎 Found Family 🥸 Undercover Investigation I would read this series in order because the relationships, Emersyn's story, and everything happening with the Deco Mirage crew build from book one. And after some of the information we get toward the end, I'm already looking toward book three. #WeAreNeverEverSolvingThisMurder #NetGalley#WeAreNeverEverSolvingThisMurder #NetGalley
