A secret identity, enemies to lovers, workplace romance

Review
This is a thoughtful, character-driven romance that leans into a slow-burn approach while exploring themes of grief, healing, and emotional vulnerability. The story follows Luci and Ryan as they navigate complicated feelings, secret identities, and the boundaries of a workplace relationship, all while slowly discovering a deeper connection with one another.
The grumpy/sunshine dynamic between them works particularly well. Ryan’s more reserved and guarded nature contrasts nicely with Luci’s warmth and openness, creating a relationship that feels balanced and believable. Their interactions are filled with a blend of witty banter and genuinely touching moments, making it easy to become invested in their journey.
The pacing is intentionally slow, allowing the characters time to process their grief and build trust. While readers looking for a fast-paced romance might find it a bit gradual, I felt the slower pace ultimately made the emotional payoff stronger and more meaningful.
Overall, this is a heartfelt romance that focuses heavily on character growth and emotional connection. By the end, I found myself wishing for even more time with Luci and Ryan, which is always a sign of a story that truly works.
