Elizabeth
My brother was getting married.
At Christmas no less.
The holiday I hated the most.
Let me list all the reasons why this will be the worst season yet:
One would be my luggage not arriving.
Two would be being told I had to find somewhere else to sleep since my room was occupied by
family members.
Oh, and now I am forced to stay with my brother’s best friend.
The man who broke my heart seven years ago.Nate
My best friend was getting married.
I was happy for him.
Until I had to offer his sister my spare bedroom.
It’d be fine, two weeks and she’d be out of my hair.
But the thing with Elizabeth was that she pushed every single button I have.
She gets under my skin in the best ways.
All we have to do is survive the wedding and the holiday.
Then she’ll be gone yet again.
Unless maybe, just maybe, my wish of having her comes true.

Review
I had the best time with this book! It’s everything I want in a cozy, feel-good holiday romance—sharp banter, emotional depth, and chemistry that practically jumps off the page. From the very first chapter, I was smiling like an idiot and didn’t stop until I reached the last page.
Elizabeth returns home for her brother’s wedding, expecting a simple family visit. Instead, she finds out her parents have given away her room and she’ll be staying with Nate—her brother’s best friend and the man who shattered her heart years ago. What could possibly go wrong? Well, as it turns out… absolutely everything and nothing, because watching these two navigate their forced proximity was pure perfection.
Elizabeth is such a breath of fresh air. She’s funny, self-aware, and just the right amount of chaotic. Her inner monologue had me cracking up more times than I can count. She’s the kind of heroine you instantly root for—strong yet vulnerable, with a wicked sense of humor.
And Nate? He’s the total package. Charming, grounded, and with just enough emotional baggage to make him irresistible. I loved how he and Elizabeth clash, tease, and challenge one another—it’s like watching fireworks. Their dynamic is pure gold, with the perfect mix of slow-burn tension and playful energy that eventually builds into something heartfelt and incredibly satisfying.
But what truly makes this book stand out is its balance of humor and emotion. Just when you’re laughing out loud, it hits you with a tender, emotional moment that pulls at your heartstrings. It’s not just about rekindled romance—it’s about forgiveness, growing up, and rediscovering the person you once loved under new light.
By the end, I was laughing, swooning, and honestly a little sad to say goodbye to these characters. This is one of those romances that leaves you feeling lighter and happier than when you started it. A perfect holiday escape, and one I’ll definitely be rereading next season.

“What did I do?” I point to myself, my hand full of icing. “What did I do? Look at what he did.” I point to my crushed house. “He ruined my house.”
“You two,” she hisses at us, “go and clean yourselves up.” She points to the side where the bathroom is.
“But, Mom,” I whine, sounding like a teenager all over again.
“Now.” She uses her mother voice, and I glare at him and storm off to the side where the sign for the toilet is.
I push open the door and walk to the side, grabbing a paper towel, and wipe off the icing from my hand before I turn the water on. I add soap to my hand and the door slams open from behind me, and I look into the mirror and see him coming in, a scowl on his face.
“Seriously,” he hisses, and I shake the water off my hands and turn it off before grabbing the paper towel and wiping them dry before turning around and facing him.
“Seriously,” I hiss back at him, “you did that on purpose.” I step closer to him, making me toe to toe with him.
“Why the fuck would I do that on purpose?” He looks down at me, his eyes narrow.
“Because you suck.” I push his chest back. “Because I was going to win.” I push him again. “Because you want to piss me off.” I’m about to push him again when he grabs my wrists in his hands and then turns me, so my back is against the door. He drops my hands but only to grab my hips, and then his mouth is on mine. One of my hands flies to his jaw while the other cups the back of his head. His tongue slides into my mouth and I tilt my head to the side as the hand holding his jaw now wraps around his shoulder. He picks me up and my legs wrap around his waist. The kiss is hungry and wild, both of us trying to take it even deeper. I know nothing good can come from this. I also know I will throat punch anyone who comes in and tries to stop us.

This author is new to me, but the book sounds great! I love an enemy-to-lovers with humor and steam.
