January Featured Author: Cara Covington

When I am in the mood for a good ménage read Cara Covington is one of the authors I turn to. I enjoy spending time in Lusty, Texas which is the amazing town she created. The people there are so warm and inviting. Grandma Kate is the matriarch of the entire town and let me tell you she always knows just who to pair up.

Selecting the books to highlight for y’all was one of the most difficult tasks this month. The reason is there are so many books in this series that I love. I wanted to highlight all of them but in the end selected some of the ones I read again and again.

Also it should be understood but in any of the books where their are siblings with one woman there is no sexual relationship or touching for titillation between or among siblings. That is a notice that Cara Covington puts on all of her books.

Love Under Two Wranglers is one of the sweeter books of this series. Holly is a librarian and Holly loves her job. She loves books, especially romance books which can be a problem because those book boyfriends can be hard for men to live up to. However, Alan Wilson and Duncan Moore are up for the challenge. They just need to convince her and then protect her when their past comes back with a vengeance. Like I said this is one of the sweeter ones and I love Holly as a character. Maybe because she reminds me of myself with her love of books.

Their Lusty Valentine has three men and for most of the series these characters are older. They are the parents of some of the other main characters so this book is a flash back.  Samantha Kincaid takes a wrong turn and ends up stranded Lusty when her car dies. She meets Preston, Taylor, and Charles Kendall who all fall head over heels in love right away. I love these characters from the first moment they are introduced in the earlier books. There are three men in this marriage but it works. So getting to see how they began was such a treat.

A Very Lusty New Year is another flash back and my favorite of all the flashback books. This one takes place mostly in Dallas as Craig and Jackson Jessop work there as investment gurus. They are wonderful in business but really need someone to take care of the office. So they hire Anna Cooper to do just that. In this one I want to strangle Anna’s mother so much. All she wants is for her daughter to marry a rich husband (Anna comes from money) and keeps making remarks about her weight. I love the way Craig and Jackson show her that she is the perfect size for them in every way.

Love Under Two Jessops gives us Chole Rhodes (a crossover from Divine,Texas by Heather Rainer character) who moves to Lusty to be closer to her sister and to help get over the recent traumas in her life. such as having to break the heart of a good man and taking the life of another to save Lusty’s Sheriff. Grant and Andrew Jessop are firemen who want Chole, although Grant wasn’t sure at first. This one is full of emotion and action. Not to mention all of the steam!

Morgan has been a writer since she was first able to pick up a pen. In the beginning it was a hobby, a way to create a world of her own, and who could resist the allure of that? Then as she grew and matured, life got in the way, as life often does. She got married and had three children, and worked in the field of accounting, for that was the practical thing to do and the children did need to be fed. And all the time she was being practical, she would squirrel herself away on quiet Sunday afternoons, and write.

Most children are raised knowing the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. Morgan’s children also learned the Paper Rule: thou shalt not throw out any paper that has thy mother’s words upon it.

Believing in tradition, Morgan ensured that her children’s children learned this rule, too.

Life threw Morgan a curve when, in 2002, she underwent emergency triple by-pass surgery. Second chances are to be cherished, and with the encouragement and support of her husband, Morgan decided to use hers to do what she’d always dreamed of doing: writing full time.

Morgan has always loved writing romance. It is the one genre that can incorporate every other genre within its pulsating heart. Romance showcases all that human kind can aspire to be. And, she admits, she’s a sucker for a happy ending.

Morgan’s favorite hobbies are reading, cooking, and traveling – though she would rather you didn’t mention that last one to her husband. She has too much fun teasing him about having become a “Traveling Fool” of late.

Morgan lives in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, with a mysterious cat that just showed up one day, a dog that still has no dignity, and her husband of thirty-nine years, David.

  19. I don’t, but Love Under Two Wranglers sounds interesting, especially as you’ve said it’s one of the sweeter ones, and I also love the fact Holly is a book lover!
