Backlist of the Month is Coming in 2023

Oct. 05, 2022

Backlist of the Month is Coming in 2023

I thought next year in addition to authors of the month I thought I would showcase books each month. However, not just any books. They will be backlist books. That means they aren’t the newest books an author has written.

For me I am going by the rule that they must be more than 2 years old. I am unsure what sort of books that I will be doing and figured I would turn to y’all. You guys read just as much as I do and now what sort of books you like and don’t like. I am certain there are books from authors that you read and think “More people need to know about this book.” However, since it isn’t a best seller or internet famous it gets looked over.

I’m here to help with that! This post will serve as a way for you to tell me about the books you want to highlight. Just list those books but be sure to check out the giveaway below for your chance to win something awesome. I will do another one of these giveaways next year sometime as well.

To make things a little sweeter I am giving away a 12.9 iPad Pro to 6 very lucky readers. You read that correctly. This is going to be a long giveaway because entering it will be so simple. I also wanted to get a good list of books together so I can get the new year started off right.

ENTER BELOW FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A 12.9 IPAD PRO. GIVEAWAY ENDS DECEMBER 30, 2022 AT 11:59 PM EAST AND IS OPEN WORLDWIDE.

My favorite genres are sci-fi, contemporary romance, paranormal romance and romantic suspense and some of my favorite tropes are enemies-to-lovers, snowed-ins and the student/teacher taboo. I love cowboys, rock stars and grumpy heroes. And these are just my favorites, like you, I enjoy a little bit of everything. The Temptation series from Ivy Smoak, anything from Mia Sheridan, Jewel E. Ann, Tracey Jerald, and Apryl Baker. The Ashes and Embers series from Carian Cole, I have read the first four books in that series but still have a few to go…I hope that you can find a story that you love too from any of the suggestions that I have left here. Thanks so much for offering the giveaway

The Dark Is Rising by Susan Cooper. The film adaption was sub par…but book however, is fantastic! It won a Newberry Medal, has been shortlisted five times for the Carnegie Medal…and while I first read it in my teens, I have a copy that I still pick up and read from time to time…that’s how much I loved it and the whole series!

Mia

An island fling was the last thing I expected when I agreed to spend a month on a tropical island with Graham and Soraya as nanny to their sweet little boy. I was planning to relax with the family, enjoy the sun, and get a break from law school...

Then a shirtless, tanned Adonis runs onto our beach and into my life.

JT is mysterious, rugged, and his gruff exterior should have sent me running in the opposite direction. But something about the man excites me, challenges me to push past my insecurities. And though I don't see myself as a "fling" kind of girl, maybe it's just what I need to move on from my painful past. The trouble is JT has quickly imprinted himself on my soul, and saying goodbye to him is going to break me.

JT

Going back to the island, the only place I felt like myself, was a no-brainer. Not just somewhere to seek refuge from business, family, and especially women. It's a place of serenity...to clear my head and get rid of the anger of betrayal and figure out what I want to do with my life.

Then Mia happens, forcing her way into my heart. Like a violent storm that rushes in, wreaking havoc but ultimately ushering in a new dawn. She sees things in me I never knew existed. But our worlds are spinning in different directions, and no matter how badly I want to hang on, the force pulling us apart might just be too strong for both of us.

Life isn’t fair.

If anyone on Earth should know that, it’s Milena Semyonov.

She’s suffered blow after blow, and the hits just keep on coming.

Just when she’s sworn off being happy, that maybe being numb is the better way to navigate life, she meets him.
Cutter Carson Clayborne.

The man that finally shows her how a real man is supposed to treat her.

Just when she didn’t think life could get any worse, the man that abused her as a young, impressionable teen is back, showing her that life can, in fact, get worse.

When she’s ready to quit, Cutter is there, making sure that she knows that he’ll be there, whether she wants him there or not.

He is her husband, after all. And the unlikely pair have an understanding that they’ll stay married for two years, make a baby, and join two crime syndicates in unholy matrimony.

Cutter has other plans, though. He only agrees to the original plan to make her his.

He won’t ever give her up. What’s his stays his. And there’s not a man on the earth that’ll ever touch Milena again. Not with Cutter alive and able to take out anyone that tries.

Broody. Hot. Intoxicating.

Nastya Semyonov first met Haze at a bar, but for Haze Hopkins, duty calls before either can act on their desires. He’s gone without a glance back, leaving her thinking that maybe all the hot looks were only one-sided.

Fast forward to the next day, Nastya hitches a ride to her car that she left behind the night before, only to run into the same man from last night.

Neither one truly thinks before they act, and they spend a hot fifteen minutes in a fast-food restaurant bathroom before parting ways again.

It’s as she’s walking back to her car that she realizes how badly she’s screwed up.

Because her car is surrounded in police tape, and there’s one very angry man wearing a badge standing in front of it with her name on an arrest warrant for killing a man.

Mistakes were made. Repeatedly.

But Detective Haze Hopkins isn’t complaining.

He was ready to quit, anyway.

Crime pays better.

There was right, there was wrong, and then there was the in-between.

The place where normal people reside, understanding that there are two sides to every coin. People that do bad things for good reasons. People that do bad things for bad reasons.

First, I knew that Shasha Semyonov was a bad man. One that did bad things for bad reasons. That didn’t mean that I was rational when it came to him.

He was toxic to my health, yet I wanted him anyway.

They say the first step to healing is admitting when you have a problem.

My problem happened to be six feet two inches tall, two hundred and twenty pounds, and bearded to perfection.

Oh, and he was also the scariest guy I knew.

Meanwhile, I was the laughingstock of the city.

The woman who was cheated on by her boyfriend with her best friend, and it was captured live while a band played in the background, perfectly accenting the humiliating video.

There was no way that Shasha Semyonov would notice me.
Right?

Wrong.

I’d definitely been noticed.
