I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Oh my goodness, where to begin! This was an amazing read. Let me start there. Even without all of the suspense it would have been awesome. Marlowe is a Colton and Bowie is her archical. Not even just hers, their fathers have been rivals for years. So you know they are the last couple that should end up together. Yet, for one night they let everything go and find themselves in each other’s arms. A night that is the just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Colton family problems.

Their night together has left Marlowe pregnant and as she begins to wrap her head around that her family is dropped a bomb. One member of the family isn’t actually a member of the family. Bowie has his own issues and thinking Marlowe is behind them he confronts her only to discover that she is pregnant.

Sounds like a lot right? Well there also the matter of someone trying to kill one or the both of them that needs to be resolved as well. We are left with a bit of cliffhanger but not in Marlowe and Bowie’s relationship. It’s more about the family issues which is something that will carry over into other books.

Two characters I didn’t like Payne, Marlowe’s father, although he does redeem himself a bit by the end, and Selina her ex-stepmother. This chick is one that I wanted to punch several times. I swear I think she is behind a whole of the mess but I’m also not sure because she almost seems too easy of culprit. If you like romance and suspense then this is the read for you. I enjoyed it so much that I actually purchased books two and three to find out what happens. I will give you those reviews so as I also have book four or five already on my schedule.

About Marie Ferrarella

Marie Rydzynski was born on March 28 in West Germany to Polish parents. She moved to America at the age of four. For an entire year, Marie and her family explored the eastern half of the country before finally settling in New York.

Marie swears she was born writing, “which must have made the delivery especially hard for my mother.” From an early age, Marie’s parents would find her watching television or tucked away in some private place, writing at a furious pace. “Initially, I began writing myself into my favourite shows. I was a detective on ’77 Sunset Strip,’ the missing Cartwright sibling they never talked about on ‘Bonanza’ and the ‘Girl from U.N.C.L.E.’ before there was a ‘Girl from U.N.C.L.E.,’ not to mention an active participant in the serialized stories of ‘The Mickey Mouse Club.'” Marie began to write her first romance novel when she was 11 years old, although she claims that, at the time, she didn’t even realize it was a romance! She scribbled off and on, while dreaming of a career as an actress.

Marie was only 14 when she first laid eyes on the man she would marry, truly her first love, Charles Ferrarella. During her days at Queens College, New York, acting started to lose its glamour as Marie spent more and more time writing. After receiving her English degree, specialising in Shakespearean comedy, Marie and her family moved to Southern California, where she still resides today.

After an interminable seven weeks apart, Charles decided he couldn’t live without her and came out to California to marry his childhood sweetheart. Ever practical, Marie was married in a wash-and-wear wedding dress that she sewed herself, appliqués and all. “‘Be prepared’ has always been my motto,”the author jokes. This motto has been stretched considerably by her two children, Nikky and Jessi, “but basically, it still applies,” she says.

In November of 1981, she sold her first novel for Harlequin. Marie, who now has written over 150 novels, has one goal: to entertain, to make people laugh and feel good. “That’s what makes me happy,” she confesses. “That, and a really good romantic evening with my husband.” She’s keeping her fingers crossed that her reader’s enjoy reading her books as much as she enjoyed writing them

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars A bookstore owner stalks an author. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars

A bookstore owner stalks an author.

The author threatens to call the police.

Then actually does.

Somehow this turns into a romance and I loved every minute of it. 😂

Jasmine and River were chaotic, stubborn, funny, and completely perfect together. Their banter carried this entire book for me.

Also, River trusting Jasmine when everyone else was questioning her? That man knew exactly who she was.

I loved how Liza and Cassian slowly became part of each other's everyday lives before romance really took center stage. They were so comfortable together and completely made me smile.

Bridger was the Rogue Pack wolf I most wanted to k Bridger was the Rogue Pack wolf I most wanted to know more about, and his story absolutely delivered. We've seen glimpses of him throughout the series—always keeping his distance while still showing up when it mattered most. Finally learning the truth behind his past and the loss he carries was heartbreaking.

Kit was not at all who I expected for Bridger, but she ended up being exactly what he needed. Their story felt a little different from the other books in the series, focusing more on healing, guilt, and emotional growth than outside conflict. I actually loved that change of pace.

The Rogue Pack's matchmaking antics had me shaking my head and laughing at the same time, and as always, the pack dynamics were one of my favorite parts of the book.

A sweet, emotional paranormal romance filled with heart, healing, and one grumpy wolf who finally gets the happiness he deserves. 🐺
