I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Elise and Neil were once married. Both lawyers they met in law school, got married and opened a practice. The marriage ended in divorce with the fact that Neil wanted children right away while Elsie wanted to wait being one of their biggest issues. Of course being divorced doesn’t mean they aren’t still attracted to one another. That attraction led to them spending one night together and now Elise is possibly pregnant with Neil’s baby.

I will say their divorce was one of the most friendliest I have ever read. I mean these two have dinner still once a month. So when Neil sends a message asking her to meet him it’s not a big deal. At least not until they both arrive and realize they each think the other sent the message getting them together. Something seems off and with this being the same warehouse where the remains of two murder victims was found recently they decide to get out of there.

This is the fifth book in the Harlequin series, Coltons of Kansas and it is action packed from the very beginning. Neil knew he made a mistake in divorcing Elise and once he finds out she is pregnant he asks her to marry him again. She tells him no but that doesn’t stop him from asking. It is clear as bells that these two still love one another and belong together. All together this was a great read and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

five-stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars A bookstore owner stalks an author. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars

A bookstore owner stalks an author.

The author threatens to call the police.

Then actually does.

Somehow this turns into a romance and I loved every minute of it. 😂

Jasmine and River were chaotic, stubborn, funny, and completely perfect together. Their banter carried this entire book for me.

Also, River trusting Jasmine when everyone else was questioning her? That man knew exactly who she was.

I loved how Liza and Cassian slowly became part of each other's everyday lives before romance really took center stage. They were so comfortable together and completely made me smile.

And Alaric's formal complaint? I laughed so hard I nearly spit out my drink. 😂

I cannot wait for the next trip back to Blackthorn Bay!

Bridger was the Rogue Pack wolf I most wanted to k Bridger was the Rogue Pack wolf I most wanted to know more about, and his story absolutely delivered. We've seen glimpses of him throughout the series—always keeping his distance while still showing up when it mattered most. Finally learning the truth behind his past and the loss he carries was heartbreaking.

Kit was not at all who I expected for Bridger, but she ended up being exactly what he needed. Their story felt a little different from the other books in the series, focusing more on healing, guilt, and emotional growth than outside conflict. I actually loved that change of pace.

The Rogue Pack's matchmaking antics had me shaking my head and laughing at the same time, and as always, the pack dynamics were one of my favorite parts of the book.

A sweet, emotional paranormal romance filled with heart, healing, and one grumpy wolf who finally gets the happiness he deserves. 🐺
