Devious Genres: Dark Romance, Mafia Romance
It’s time to pay my father’s debt.
Nobody is stupid enough to steal from him, Cayden Vitali.
They call him Devious for a reason. He doesn’t let his debts go unpaid. He collects what he’s owed.
Lex Bartoli works for Devious. Lex should know better than to steal his money. But mistakes were made, and now it’s time to pay.
Unfortunately for me, Devious knows exactly what he wants as payment for Lex’s stupid mistake.
Me.
Lex’s daughter.
If I won’t agree to marry Devious, he has another way of making my family pay.
The choice is mine.
Marry the enemy… or watch him kill my father as payback.
Devious is a mafia book with an arranged marriage, enemies to lovers and an age gap romance.

This was a solid read but I just couldn’t like one of the characters which is why I took off a star. That doesn’t mean you wouldn’t love it. So, please remember to always take my reviews with a grain of salt. Just because I think a book is okay doesn’t mean you won’t be over the moon for it.
I had a real problem with Roselyn at times. I mean she grew up in this lifestyle and yet she acted like a novice when it came to things. She acts like a sheltered child sometimes and other times like she knows her own mind. I wish she had been a much stronger character. It wasn’t that she was a horrible character I just couldn’t relate to her.
Devious is the redeemer of this book! He is awesome as a Don and there are times I felt sorry for him. He was beyond patient with Roselyn and he is the reason the book got four stars! For me he is the way a mafia don should be written, dark and demanding, willing to say your daughter or your life! For me Devious was the perfect hero for this book and I think Roselyn and him would have been the perfect couple if I could have liked her more. While I don’t think he needed a super strong woman I think he needed someone a little more…something.

This book reminds me of ancient days when queens were forced to marry kings from different cities to keep the peace.

Wow, I didn’t even know that mafia romance was a sub-genre, but I’d try it.
