Review
Veronica and Owen are nearing their fortieth birthdays and are eager to celebrate these milestones in grand style. However, when they start discussing their plans, it becomes clear that they have very different ideas. Owen’s suggestion is a big ask that would significantly disrupt their lives, and Veronica can easily find plenty of reasons why it’s not practical. At the same time, their son Travis is supposed to be focused on his exams but finds himself distracted by a crush on the girl next door.
I really sympathized with Veronica as she weighed the many reasons why Owen’s idea wouldn’t work. It was clear that Owen wasn’t seeing things from her perspective. I could also relate to teenage Travis, who is juggling worries about his future with the excitement of his first crush. Mistletoe Moments is the fifth book in the Christmas on The Close series, and although it’s my first, you can definitely enjoy these books as standalones.
With just over 100 pages, this novella is perfect for reading in one sitting. The fast pace and relatable characters make it a delightful holiday read.
