This is my first book from Verity Bright and I must say I enjoyed it. This was so well written that you could easily feel as though you were caught up in the story. The cast of characters are a group that I am looking forward to getting to know better.

The 20s come to life as Eleanor and her inherited bulldog, Gladstone take on a new mystery. Getting ready for her first Christmas after inheriting Henley Hall her uncle’s
estate in Little Buckford, Buckinghamshire Eleanor wants to continue his traditions.

Everything seems to be going fine until Conrad Canning dies from a heart attack. Doctor Browning and DCI Seldon both believe he died from the heart attack. Nothing more to it but Eleanor isn’t so sure of it which means it’s time to take matters into her own hands.

Eleanor was simply a wonderful character. She is what I would imagine Ms. Marple would have been like when she was young or if she had a daughter. As I said this such a great read and I would highly recommend it.
