Birthday Bash Giveaway

Aug. 30, 2021

Since I was doing one of these over at Rita Reviews I thought I would do one here as well. I mean why not? It’s my birthday and I have a new lease on life so why not celebrate the crap out of that. Honestly I could be sad and say that my heart failure is a death sentence and I admit to having bad days where it feels like it is. I mean two hospital stays in barely a month doesn’t bode well. My doctors and I have a plan and we are sticking to it.

So lets celebrate the fact that I am 45 today! I have never been one of those women who lie about their age. I don’t see the point. I could say I was younger but I earned every single grey hair and wrinkle that I have. I have laugh lines because I laugh a lot. Getting older means I no longer get embarrassed by what I read. If someone makes a remark about me reading “mommy porn” or just “porn” I just smile and tell them they have no idea what they are missing. I enjoy the books I read, the ones I listen to, and every other part of my life.

I just finished reading “I’m Your Huckleberry” by Val Kilmer. A couple of weeks ago I saw “Val” on Amazon Prime Video and I was deeply affected by it. It was a stark contrast to see him young and beautiful in the 1980s and 1990s and to see him how he is today after struggling with throat cancer. I have recently dealt with health issues and have more than once thought I didn’t want to continue dealing with this everyday. But then I saw “Val” and I thought, “if Val can keep going, so can I”. So then I read his book and there are weird parts but a lot of sections of the book brought a smile to my face. He is a very creative person.

    Happy Birthday! I’m 45, too.

Kristen Hannah and Jody Picoult are great authors. I heard my aunt say that her favorite book was Lonesome Dove. I had no idea what the book was about but I checked it out from the library. I normally give books 100 pages before I decide to keep reading or not waste my time. Lonesome Dove is around 1000 pages so I decided to give it 200 pages and it is a genre I usually do not care to read but so glad I did. I know you have tons on your plate but if you ever want something different it is a good book.

Also, if you want something a bit tamer then I I suggest Huntress by Julie Hall, the main charcter is a stubborn but amazing hero even if she doesn’t know it. Found this book to be a page turner and not like some of the others I read, plus it has book two out so your not waiting in the dark for what happens next.

CAN YOU KEEP HER SUPERNATURAL SECRET? Moon of Secr CAN YOU KEEP HER SUPERNATURAL SECRET?
Moon of Secrets by Brenda Trim and Tia Didmon is now live!!

https://geni.us/MoonofSecrets

To stop the darkness, I must walk among the enemy

Going undercover in a rival wolf pack wasn't part of the plan, but it's the only way to uncover their true motives. With a false identity and a carefully spun lie, I slip into their hidden community, only to learn the truth is far more dangerous than I imagined.

These wolves aren't evil. They're being used. Manipulated by an ancient entity that feeds on shifter energy, one bent on harnessing enough power to permanently darken the moon. If it succeeds, every wolf shifter will gain unstoppable strength, at the cost of our humanity.

As suspicion sharpens around me, I lean on Eve's spells to mask my identity and Salima's guidance to reach my allies on the outside. Time is running out, the lunar ritual draws near, and I'm walking a razor's edge between exposure and survival.

Because saving the city isn't enough this time. I have to save them, even if they tear me apart for the truth.

Find out what lurks in the shadows of Ravenholde by reading Moon of Secrets, the Paranormal Women's Fiction series readers are comparing to Shannon Mayer, K.F. Breene, and Victoria Dannan.

I blame getting pregnant on my sister getting mauled by a bear.
If she hadn’t been attacked that day, I wouldn’t have come home to check on her. I wouldn’t have run
into Boone Windsor at that bar. I wouldn’t have gone home with him, ready to drown my sorrows in a
different, more satisfying way.
I wouldn’t have given him that second chance.
Not after he’d so badly burned the first chance.
I would’ve gone back to work half the country away, and I would’ve kept my head in the sand where
Boone was involved.
But my sister did get attacked. I did give Boone a second chance.
And I almost died because of it.
After my memories are lost in an accident that almost takes both of our lives, Boone makes me fall in
love with him all over again.
And since I didn’t know all the hell that awaited me, I didn’t guard my heart.
I fell, and fell, and fell until there was nowhere else to go but down.
Then, when those memories come back and I’m faced with the consequences of my actions, I didn’t
falter.
I knew he was hell, yet I chose to burn with him anyway.
