Even though I started this series at book seven and moved straight into this one, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying every minute. It’s clear this is a very family-centered series, and while I had no trouble following along, I can only imagine how much richer the experience would be starting from the beginning.

Murder on an Irish Farm kicks off with a wedding—always a fun setting—before quickly taking a darker turn with the discovery of a human skeleton. From there, the story unfolds into a full investigation, complete with another murder, keeping DS Macdara Flannery and Garda Siobhan O’Sullivan on their toes.

These two are such a great team. Their dynamic really shines throughout the book, and their banter adds a wonderful touch of humor that balances the darker elements of the mystery. It’s one of those partnerships that makes the story even more enjoyable.

The pacing is fast and engaging, with a mystery that keeps you guessing. There are plenty of twists and moving parts, but everything comes together beautifully in the end. I especially appreciated how all the loose ends were tied up in a way that felt both satisfying and well thought out.

There’s also a lovely sense of community and warmth woven throughout the story, even amid the chaos of the investigation. And just when you think things are wrapping up, there’s still a wedding to look forward to, which adds a nice, uplifting note to finish on.

Overall, this is a fantastic installment in the series—funny, fast-paced, and cleverly plotted. It’s definitely convinced me that I need to go back and start from book one!
