I'd Rather Not by Lani Lynn Vale
Series: KPD Motorcycle Patrol #3
Genres: Romantic Suspense
Oakley Spurlock is dying.
She only has weeks to live thanks to a freak infection that totally and completely destroyed her kidneys.
Despite her family’s desperation, not a single one of them is a match.
In a last-ditch attempt, Oakley’s father takes to social media to beg for help to save his daughter’s life.
***Pace Vineyard is lost. So lost, in fact, that he’s not sure he wants to be found.
But then a beautiful woman’s face is splashed across social media, and Pace finds a spark in his soul for the first time since a bomb went off beside him.
He’s already missing two legs. What’s one more kidney?
At least, that’s what he tells himself.
What he doesn’t expect is to give his heart to the woman, too. Or for the woman to run away with it and force him to follow.
I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Oh my God! This book is so full of emotion! From the synopsis you can just feel the emotion. Oakley is one of my favorite children, in fact we only see her for a brief moment in the epilogue of her parents book but she made an impression on me that just stuck. So I was excited for her book but not to find out she is dying.
Pace is a double amputee and also on the KPD Motorcycle Patrol. He sees on social media that Oakley needs a kidney and decides to see if her is a match. You couldn’t have a better love story. These two have gone through a lot and I love that they don’t push each away. They both know just how short life can be.
There is so much that I could say about this book but it is not easy without giving things away. While Oakley and Pace seem to have the romance down pat they still have plenty of drama. I will say that most of their drama takes the cake so far in this series. I mean dang ! This couple needs a break. She had to have a kidney and he lost his legs is there much more they need to go through?
