Special Kind of Twisted by Lani Lynn Vale
Series: Gator Bait MC #6
Genres: MC Romance
He had a way of pulling everyone into his darkness. Then, to make matters worse, he convinced you that you liked it there.
Kyle Davis—ex professional baseball player and current felon—loved Sara, his best friend. Strictly platonically, of course. He’d do absolutely anything for her, even put up with Greer, Sara’s other best friend.
What she was not was Kyle’s best friend. Or any friend at all, to be honest.
In fact, they couldn’t stand to be in the same room with each other, let alone breathe the same air for any length of time.
Then something happens, forcing the two of them to work together to keep Sara blissfully unaware of the danger Greer’s in.
They come up with a plan. Sara doesn’t need to know.
What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her.
The funny thing is, Sara knows all. Sara also knows the two of them are destined to be with each other.
She only has to convince them of it first.

Review
Kyle “KD” Davis and Greer are not friends. They don’t even pretend to be most of the time. What they are is best friends with Sara. So when Sara follows KD to Accident, Floridia then Greer follows Sara. It’s actually pretty funny how much these two “hate” one another. You know that very thin line between love and hate. The sparks fly off the page even when they are arguing.
KD is in the security business and after what happened with his sister and his prison stay you will understand why. Let me say that I loved both his sister and his brother. They were wonderful characters and regardless what happened within their family they all still treat each other the way siblings do. Whether they are worried or not there is not halfways with them.
While Greer is a taxidermist. You read that correctly and I love that job for her. She is great at it and it figures in well to the story line. Greer also has birds and let me tell you they steal the scene each and every time they are in one. They are simply two of the greatest pets ever! Let me tell y’all that Lani Lynn Vale writes animals well and while Radar will always be my favorite these two birds are right after him.
When it becomes clear that Greer could be in danger KD wastes no time in stepping in to help keep her safe. It’s what he does is an excuse to stay close to her. Then when they decide to just give in to their baser desires they burn the pages up. I love it when they stay the same. They still treat one another as they did with their arguing and bickering. They don’t suddenly fall in love and treat each other differently. Greer still has an opinion about everything while KD still loves to rile her up.
We of course get the Gator Bait guys and gals as well as a few new people. Sunny is once again in the picture only now we begin to learn a little more about him and his connection to Sara. Katdy the nurse is great as well and the fact that KD’s brother calls her Nurse Ratchet just made my day.
“What are you doing here?” I snarled.
He raised his brow at me. “What does it look like I’m doing here? I’m here to pick you up, duh.”
God, he was too fucking hot for his own good. Tall with broad, muscular shoulders, he was everything someone would ever want in a man.
Someone that wasn’t me.
Because I knew the real him.
Those thick, muscular thighs wouldn’t convince me. Nor would that red fucking beard or those damn blue eyes. Or those godforsaken lips.
Nope. No. Nuh-uh. Been there, done that, don’t want the fuckin’ memory of it. And when I say ‘been there, done that,’ I mean, I’ve been around him, I’ve done the whole spending time with him outside of Sara, our best friend. And I didn’t like the guy.
Not in any way.
I thought he was a pretentious asshole who could use a swift kick in the ass. Preferably one that knocked him over into a vat of boiling bug feces.
“Why are you in here specifically?” I clarified, knowing damn good and well that he was going to force me to get to specific eventually.
He was an asshole like that.
“I need you to help me with a drunk tank test.” He rolled his eyes. “Which I damn well know Sara has already told you about.”
I glared at him.
“I mean, why are you here right now?” I waved the fake eyeball at him. “I still have to put this in.”
And I’d like to get the skin in place today, but it looked like that wasn’t going to happen.
Beggars couldn’t be choosers when their car was in the shop.
Speaking of…
“Do you happen to know why my car is still in the shop when all it needed was a single freakin’ tire?” I asked sweetly. “And why, after it was in there, it suddenly sprang an oil leak, and they were forced to replace a head gasket on my motor, a seal on my transmission, and replace some spark plugs? Oh, and let’s not mention the fact that I asked for one tire, yet they put on four tires.”
Not even a single twitch.
The ass.
I knew that he’d had something to do with it, yet the mechanic that was working on my car wasn’t talking.
“Because I was already on my way down here before I got any text telling me to take my time,” he said. “Not to mention, we have like thirty minutes to be there. And I have to stop at my place first to get my car.”
