Anna is having some bad luck. She currently is living in a tent on the roof of Jake’s luxury apartment complex. Let me say right off the bat that she is one strong lady! I don’t know if I could do that. Jake steps in to help when he finds out and offers her not only a job but also the chance to stay at his grandmother’s home in Pepper Bay. Anna jumps at the chance to have a fresh start and Pepper Bay is the kind of town that you just fall in love with. Anna does just that but also manages to fall in love with Jake along the way.
Anna is one of those people who no matter what happens will always have hope that things will get better. Many people would see living in a tent as rock bottom. Anna is just determined to make the best of it and move forward in life.
She hasn’t been harden by her bad luck and that is a rare thing today. Jake is her polar opposite in that he tends to keep things close to the vest, so to speak. He doesn’t let a lot of people into his life and I loved how he seemed to easily let Anna in.
This is the classic Cinderella story but with a modern sort of twist. The setting of Pepper Bay could not have been more perfect for this story. I loved every second of it.
