The Cousins O’Dwyer Trilogy | Discussion

Jun. 30, 2021

The Cousins ODwyer Trilogy at Wickedly Romance

After reading and rereading all three books I thought it would be fun to discuss the series and the books. Plus to maybe mention somethings that bothered me about the books. First and foremost let me say I loved the series. IT was great but there were a few things that I wanted more information on. Also, if you haven’t read the series and plan on reading it STOP READING THIS POST NOW!! There will be some spoilers mentioned (I will attempt to not go into great detail) and it could ruin this for you. If you have read the series lets discuss it.

LAST WARNING

SPOILERS AHEAD – Reading Beyond Here At Your Own Risk.

The Ending of the Series

I hated the ending of the series. I felt that we got ripped off in some way. We need more, at least something that gave us more than just everything was over. I don’t know I just felt like there was more that could have been said. I really wanted a little look into the future or honestly anything.

Fin’s Heritage

This was such a huge part of the series and when it finally comes out, it makes sense but then some other things get hinted at. Sorcha mentions that Fin is Daithi and then tells him the truth of his heritage. Then her daughter, Brannuagh, say Fin is like like her own husband. So I wonder if they were connected in that way as well? Was Brannuagh’s husband somehow a relation to Fin or not? Were Fin and Branna more or less a reincarnation of Sorcha and Daithi? I mean there were so many questions let unanswered there.

Daithi

I hated that we didn’t get more of him. The bits we do get are so intense. You can feel his love for Sorcha coming off the pages from the first moment we hear him speak to her. Yet, we never see him come to his children in any way. He never comes to anyone after his death. There is a thought that he came as a stag once to help but it’s just a thought. Fin sees him but it as he is dying. I just would have loved more of him.

Picky Readers

I know this makes me sound like one of those super picky readers. I will admit there are times when I feel like I am. However with this series I just felt there was stuff that got left out somehow. Things that seemed or were discussed as important but not expanded on. The series it self was amazing, I just needed more.

Let’s Discuss

If you have read this series and have thoughts about anything, please leave a comment below. I promise I will be answering all of these comments and we will have a discussion.

I love Nora Roberts but I absolutely cannot stand to get invested in a series and then be let down in the end. That will drive me crazy! Thank you for sharing!

I have read the books. I will agree with you about the ending, just too abrupt. But overall an excellent trip into that world.

I haven’t read any of the stories from this series so I did skip past the spoilers. I have read Nora Roberts in the past though so I know that she is a talented author and as such, I am adding these titles to my TBR

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars A bookstore owner stalks an author. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars

A bookstore owner stalks an author.

The author threatens to call the police.

Then actually does.

Somehow this turns into a romance and I loved every minute of it. 😂

Jasmine and River were chaotic, stubborn, funny, and completely perfect together. Their banter carried this entire book for me.

Also, River trusting Jasmine when everyone else was questioning her? That man knew exactly who she was.

I loved how Liza and Cassian slowly became part of each other's everyday lives before romance really took center stage. They were so comfortable together and completely made me smile.

And Alaric's formal complaint? I laughed so hard I nearly spit out my drink. 😂

I cannot wait for the next trip back to Blackthorn Bay!

Bridger was the Rogue Pack wolf I most wanted to k Bridger was the Rogue Pack wolf I most wanted to know more about, and his story absolutely delivered. We've seen glimpses of him throughout the series—always keeping his distance while still showing up when it mattered most. Finally learning the truth behind his past and the loss he carries was heartbreaking.

Kit was not at all who I expected for Bridger, but she ended up being exactly what he needed. Their story felt a little different from the other books in the series, focusing more on healing, guilt, and emotional growth than outside conflict. I actually loved that change of pace.

The Rogue Pack's matchmaking antics had me shaking my head and laughing at the same time, and as always, the pack dynamics were one of my favorite parts of the book.

A sweet, emotional paranormal romance filled with heart, healing, and one grumpy wolf who finally gets the happiness he deserves. 🐺
