This special edition absolutely wrecked me in the best way. Knowing where the story left off, I went into this one already emotional—and it delivered every bit of that intensity and more.
Pashov’s journey in this book is heartbreaking and beautiful all at once. Watching him navigate everything he’s been through—loss, confusion, and trying to reconnect with a life he doesn’t remember—was incredibly moving. What stood out to me most was his determination. Even when everything felt unfamiliar, he still tried. He showed up. He fought to be the mate and father he felt he should be, even when he didn’t have the memories to guide him. That alone made me love him even more.
And the moments between him and Pacy? Completely melted my heart. There’s just something so powerful about seeing that bond build and grow, especially under such difficult circumstances. Those scenes were easily some of my favorites.
Stacy’s journey is filled with pain and emotional weight, and while I didn’t always agree with her choices, I could understand where she was coming from. The situation she’s placed in is devastating, and her reactions felt very real. That said, I found myself wanting more from her at times—more openness, more willingness to meet Pashov halfway. But when she finally lets her guard down, the connection between them shines through so clearly, reminding you just how strong their love really is.
Beyond the romance, the struggles of the tribe added so much depth to the story. The aftermath of the earthquake, the loss of their home, and the fight to survive with limited resources created a strong emotional backdrop. You really feel what they’re going through—the fear, the uncertainty, and the determination to rebuild together.
This was a slow burn, but it worked beautifully with the story being told. The emotional payoff was worth every moment, and seeing this family find their way back to each other—and toward a new beginning—was incredibly satisfying.
This series continues to be one of my all-time favorites, and this book is a perfect example of why. Emotional, heartfelt, and full of love in all its forms—I adored every minute of it.
