So Excited!

Sep. 01, 2022

You may have noticed that things look more than a little different here. I am so excited about this new look. I first noticed this theme when it came through my email over at Rita Reviews. I liked it right away but thought it was a bit out of my budget at the time.

I mean I wasn’t looking to spend a couple of hundred dollars on a theme. Especially when I didn’t have this blog anywhere near the place I wanted it to be. So, I let the thought of changing things go and went about my business. It was no big deal. Months went by and I felt like I was falling further and further behind what I wanted to be doing here. I wasn’t sure what was going on.

New Look 3- Storied Conversation

Then I had that moment at Rita Reviews when I was more than ready to give it all up. I was tired and would come up with excuses as to why I wasn’t getting things done. The truth was I burnt out. Burnt out on all sorts of things. Life in general. It was at that moment I had my epiphany. After a lot of praying and examining everything in my life I sat  down and wrote out what I wanted. How I wanted my day to day to look.

Things in both my business and personal lives that I wanted to improve. That I could change. One thing I knew was that the Scribe theme from Restored 316 Designs had stayed in the back of my mind since the moment I saw it. I needed it but again I didn’t want to spend the money. I told myself if I took the time and stopped playing around, actually getting the things I needed to get done. Getting everything moved and organized. Sitting down and pre-writing all of the pages, planning how things would look, and how long it would take me then (and only then) I could buy the theme.

I didn’t think I would accomplish any of it. I figured I would do like I always do and give up. It wouldn’t be a big deal but to be honest getting Storied Conversation in shape was part of my bigger plan. Then in early August I sat down one day, started working, and everything was done. Well it was almost done. By the end of the week it was all done and I was amazed. I had done it.

New Look 2- Storied Conversation

That meant I could get the new theme. I could do something I wanted to do. Then I set another task for myself before I committed. I needed to be sure. The logo needed to be right. I need to prep and plan my social media as I want to be better at it. guess what? I got all of that done as well. I just sat done and did it. So, I bought the theme and installed it.

Everything has been updated and is looking the way I want it to. It wasn’t difficult at all. There was very little that I changed from the way the theme came. I loved the colors and style. It was designed for authors so books are the inspiration for it. I hope that you will all take the time to check out the pages and all the other little parts. See how much has changed and please be honest about the parts you like and don’t like. Also, just because I am so excited I thought I would do a giveaway for y’all.

The site looks amazing! I think it was well worth it. I just built a site myself for my business, and it doesn’t look this good, mostly because I used a free theme and I’m not up to customizing it to perfection.

Very attractive new look! The only negative for me is I have to do a lot more scrolling down the page to get to your book reviews – maybe it’s my browser?

Holly Lorena Cain, formerly known as Georgina Lorena Cain, was well acquainted with rock bottom. She’s coasted along its rocky shores for years. It all started when her mother left her when she was barely old enough to understand. For years, her and her dad struggled to make ends meet. A dying cattle farm can’t run itself, and with her dad having cancer, it got harder and harder to hang on to land that’s been in her family for generations.

Just as she thinks that she’s finally made it, her father passes away and leaves every single thing he owns to their neighbor. The man that’d been worming his way into her father’s good graces while she’d been away pursuing higher education.

But she can’t be mad.

Being mad would mean that she has a soul left, but she sold that a long time ago to pay for college.

Once she comes to terms with her father and the land being gone, she moves back to Bear Pass and with one thing on her mind—avoid Denver at all costs. He can never know just how much it hurt that he stole her life away from her.

Only, he makes it impossibly hard to stay away.

He’s there around every corner. He offers her a place to stay. Makes sure she has a place to work. Fixes her car. Saves her from a kidnapper. Oh, and gives her everything her heart desires.

She stays away as best as she can, but she doesn’t stand a chance against Denver’s determination and charm. He’s there when no one else is, peeling her off the floor and propping her back up again each time she falls.

The gruff motorcycle club president with his scary glares and harsh work ethic has decided to make her his, and he won’t stand for her refusal.

He’s been protecting her for her entire life, and she doesn’t even know it.

He won’t stop now, even if she’s bound and determined to stay away.
