The Monthly Chapter | January 2023

Welcome to The Monthly Chapter for January 2023.

It’s a new year and let me tell you I have big plans for both blogs this year. Right off the bat you can see I changed a few things with this particular series. Not too much because honestly, it has been one of my more popular series and giveaways. There will be a few new things happening around here and a few tired and true things.

One of my biggest things here is to post a little more often here. I feel like I fell behind so much here last year and I don’t want that to be the case. I have been working ahead and prepping as much as I could. Some things just can’t be done early but I wanted to be sure I was ready.

I had fallen into a bit of a reading slump the last few months of last year and it really showed here. I don’t know why but it seemed like nothing interested me at all. This month I am hoping to rekindle my reading fire and find not only new authors but expand my genres a little more.

Reading This Month

PLEASE NOTE SOME OF THESE BOOKS MAY BE ARCS (ADVANCED READING COPIES) AND NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE.

  1. I would love to take January and catch up on my reading. My daughter left me some great books on her visit and with a warm mug of tea, I should be able to achieve my goal

  2. I plan to read more this year that’s for sure but I don’t have anything on deck at the moment. Happy New Year to you best wishes in 2023!

  3. I’m not entirely sure what I will read but I do want to finish off series I’ve started last year. Tracy Wolff and K.F. Breene are a couple authors I will read.

  4. This week I am re-reading “Dune”. I just finished another book by the author “the White Plague”, I really wanted to like it, but it felt … unfinished, unpolished, like he wasn’t sure where he wanted to go. I made me miss his other stuff.

  5. I’d like to add more true crime books this year and looking forward to reading ‘I Have Some Questions for You’ by Rebecca Makkai.

  6. I plan on reading the Catherine Coulter FBI Thrillers that I haven’t had a chance to read. I buy them and they are ready to be read. lol

  7. i see some good books here that i would love to read, just give me some time to get to them! never enough time to sit down and get into a good book!

  8. I have a couple of books I definitely want to read this year. Hope to get to them soon โ˜บ๏ธ

  10. I want to read at least 5 books this month. I’ve read 2 so far. Can’t wait to read Cute But Psycho! Love LLV’s books! ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. As a teacher, I just have to get through the next four months to get to some more dedicated reading and writing time…

  12. I am normally an avid reader but not been as into it this month. I’m feeling out what I’m interested in reading.

  13. I am looking forward to Shari Lapena’s new book coming out in the summer and I just read about a Nora Roberts book on your site that interest me, “Montana Sky”.

  14. I was looking forward to the new volume of the Given manga, but it was kind of a letdownโ€ฆhappy to pick up Hirano and Kagiura at the library soon, though!

  15. There are so many books I’m looking forward to reading. Some top ones are Carlene O Connor’s Murder at an Irish Bookshop, and Kaitlyn Dunnett View to a Kilt.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  16. Right now I’m trying to finish A Tale of Two Cities. I’m not sure which book from my TBR I’ll do next, but most likely it’s between Vannetta Chapman’s ‘Bishop’ mystery series, Great Expectations, Jane Eyre, The Copper Box (Jerome mystery #1), or Millenial Robin Hood.

Hope you have a safe winter filled with good books ๐Ÿ™‚ !

  17. I am trying to read some of the series that have been waiting on my Kindle for awhile now, The Stones of Heart Falls series by Vivian Arend, The Dare series by Carly Phillips and the remaining books in the Ashes and Embers series by Carian Cole, just to name a few
