2019 Books Reviewed

Dec. 31, 2019

I reviewed a books of books this year and I wanted to to take a few minutes to let you see them all. Each one has a special place in my heart. some I know I will reread again this year because I love them o much. Others I will reread at later dates. Yet some will only ever be read once because that’s just the way it goes. I hope you find one or two that you will enjoy. See you next year!

I loved how Liza and Cassian slowly became part of each other's everyday lives before romance really took center stage. They were so comfortable together and completely made me smile.

And Alaric's formal complaint? I laughed so hard I nearly spit out my drink. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Bridger was the Rogue Pack wolf I most wanted to k Bridger was the Rogue Pack wolf I most wanted to know more about, and his story absolutely delivered. We've seen glimpses of him throughout the seriesโ€”always keeping his distance while still showing up when it mattered most. Finally learning the truth behind his past and the loss he carries was heartbreaking.

Kit was not at all who I expected for Bridger, but she ended up being exactly what he needed. Their story felt a little different from the other books in the series, focusing more on healing, guilt, and emotional growth than outside conflict. I actually loved that change of pace.

The Rogue Pack's matchmaking antics had me shaking my head and laughing at the same time, and as always, the pack dynamics were one of my favorite parts of the book.

A sweet, emotional paranormal romance filled with heart, healing, and one grumpy wolf who finally gets the happiness he deserves. ๐Ÿบ

Iโ€™m right in the middle of reading this but I have Iโ€™m right in the middle of reading this but I have to say if you havenโ€™t picked this up yet, run grab it. It is s good and while all the characters are great, Aunt Pip is simply the best side character ever written if thatโ€™s possible!

Blurb: I shouldโ€™ve worn underwear that day.

Iโ€™d have far less hate mail in my inbox. Iโ€™d also still have a job.

But I didnโ€™t wear underwear. And I had a wardrobe malfunction on a livestream.

So now Iโ€™m the proud owner of the internetโ€™s most famousโ€ฆ you know.

The good news? Iโ€™ve been invited to hide from my sudden infamy at a closed winery with other women whoโ€™ve suffered their own five minutes of shame.

The bad news? The winery has a live-in handyman.

A competent, compassionate, patient, sexy, single dad handyman.

Whom I met when I punched him in the face.

Accidentally, of course. But I still get why heโ€™s happy keeping his distance from me.

But when we find out the winery thatโ€™s saving my life is in danger of foreclosure, he and I become accidental partners.

No big deal, working with a guy that Iโ€™m falling harder for each day.

Iโ€™m already the internetโ€™s favorite punching bag. Why not add an unrequited crush to my life?

But what if itโ€™s not unrequited after all?

From USA Today and Amazon #1 Bestselling Author Pippa Grant comes a funny, heartwarming, swoony romance perfect for readers who love protective book boyfriends, found sisterhoods, slow burns, epically awkward meet-cutes, and love conquering all.

Content note: This book contains toxic family and references to bullying, suicide, abuse, and the off-page cancer death of the heroโ€™s first wife several years before the story begins.

Bring an author to work day just got spicy.

River
I moved to Santa Maria for peace and quiet.
Not for a saucy little bookworm determined to ruin both.
But Jasmine Knudsen is the most infuriatingly stubborn woman I've ever met.
Everywhere I go, she's there, refusing to take no for an answer.
She might be winning because I've never wanted anything the way I want her.
But she isn't interested in being caughtโ€ฆuntil I don't leave her a choice.
Now, we aren't playing her game. We're playing mine.
And when a future with her is on the line?
There's nothing I won't do to win.

Jasmine
I read smut, and I know things. It's what I do.
What I don't do is back down.
So when local romance author, River "I'm Too Good for Your Book Club" Jamison, refuses to come speak, I declare war.
He thought I was kidding when I swore to annoy him until he agreed.
I wasn't.
I thought he was joking when he threatened to have me arrested.
Turns out, the big grump wasn't kidding, either.
Now, he's refusing to drop the charges unless I go out with him.
And I must be losing it because I'm not saying no.
But I did not expect to become the main suspect when his latest manuscript goes missing.
Which means I might end up right back in jail.
Only this time, it's not just my freedom at stake.
It's my heart, too.

Iโ€™m no hero. Iโ€™m a former mercenary and retired assassin. Iโ€™m rough, I live in the darkness, and keep the demons at bay by fighting in the underground Las Vegas fight rings.
Then I see her.
Sheโ€™s offered up as a prize. Sheโ€™s young, pretty, and far too innocent.
Sheโ€™s everything Iโ€™m not.
Iโ€™ll fight for her, then Iโ€™ll set her free.
And Iโ€™ll keep my hands to myselfโ€ฆno matter how much I want to touch her.
Lili
I shouldnโ€™t have been surprised when my deadbeat dad sells me to a ruthless businessman to pay his debt. Now, Iโ€™m the prize for a deadly illegal fight and Iโ€™m terrified.
Until I hear the fighter known as the Wolf will fight.
I know Cole Black is quiet, intense, and dangerous, but something tells me I can trust the scarred fighter.
But when he gets me free of the ring, thatโ€™s when my real troubles begin.
That businessmanโ€ฆhe wonโ€™t let me go.
